Turkish Red Crescent Society which has been undertaking a humanitarian aid operation in Iraq, providing various needs of the Iraqi citizens varying from food to clothing items has now started to produce bread in Erbil through a bakery.
Thanks to the project realized after the donation of Muslim Aid Australia (MAA), the Iraqis living in camps have an uninterrupted supply of bread.
Turkish Red Crescent which contacted the Iraqi Red Crescent Society in Erbil about the appropriation of the donation from MAA decided to set up a bread bakery for the Iraqis who, under the threat of regional conflicts, had to leave their homes. The decision included increase in the capacity of the bakery alrady being used by the Iraqi Red Crescent Society in Erbil and new equipment were purchased. Turkish Red Crescent Society which also decided to provide support in technical staff, flour, yeast powder and similar ingredients to sustain the activity of the bakery therefore enabled the bakery to provide an uninterrupted supply of
fresh bread to all of the camps.
