The escapes from close by villages and cities from Syria are growing to Hatay’s Altınözü and Yayladağı counties, since the internal unrest has begun in Syria. Turkish Red Crescent continuous its humanitarian relief works for the Syrian refugees whose number is increasing day by day.
Turkish Red Crescent who closely fallows internal unrest in Africa and Middle East, launched the “Syria Humanitarian Reliefe Operation” for the Syrians who affected by the recent incidents in Syria. In this context, Turkish Red Crescent keep working continuously with particularly Hatay, İskenderun, Samandağ, Reyhanlı branches and Adana, Elazığ, Muş, Düzce and İstanbul Disaster Managment Centers and it’s all units.
The Turkish Red Crescent is providing services in 5 camps established in Hatay and called as Yayladağı 1, Yayladağı 2, Altınözü, Boynuyoğun and Reyhanlı for the Syrians, majorly women and children, fled from their country and became refugee in Turkey. In addition to its services such as sheltering, nutrition and relevant basic needs, the Turkish Red Crescent also established facilities like prayer room, shower cabins, children playgrounds and television halls.
Psychosocial Support Activities
In the social activities tents which are established by Turkish Red Crescent since the beginning of Syrian Humanitarian Relief Operation, TRC has begun to provide psychosocial support activities, especially for children in order to overcome the trauma easily. At the end of these activities, fear left to place smiles.
UN Delegation Praises Turkish Red Crescent
UNHCR Delegation who came to Boynuyoğun tent camp which was established by Turkis Red Crescent in Hatay with Assistants Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Halit Çevik and Birnur Fertekligil, was informed about the Turkish Red Crescent’s activities. UNHCR Delegation spoke of Turkish Red Crescent’s extraordinary works and they thanked for the successful humanitarian relief activities fort he Syrians.
Minister of Foreign Affairs in Turkish Red Crescent’s Tent Camp
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu, Former Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, Governer of Hatay Celalettin Lekesiz and accompanying Turkish Delagation made a visit Yayladağı Tent Camp and Ömer Taşlı Turkish Red Crescent General Manager accompanied. During the visit Minister Davutoğlu was informed about Turkish Red Crescent’s humanitarian relief works for Syrians. After that Minister had a conversation with Syrians who stay in the tent camp.
