UN and UNICEF delegation that visited Erciş district of Van, examined the container city of Turkish Red Crescent, constructed with the campaign of the newspaper of Hürriyet. UN and UNICEF delegation also came together with the earthquake victims living in the container city.

The delegation was composed of UNICEF representative Ayman Abulaban, UN Permanent Representative Shahid Najam, UN IOM representative Selin Arslan, UNICEF representative Hande Dilaver and UN representative for Turkey Halide Saylan. UN and UNICEF delegation, who was welcomed and informed about the activities in the region by the Turkish Red Crescent, donated 5.000 blankets, 2.500 rollaway bed, 1.000 plastic tables and 2.000 plastic chairs to be used in the container city.

Seyrantepe Mevlana (Container) City, constructed by Turkish Red Crescent in the earthquake region, also hosted a cheerful event: 4 children’s birthdays were celebrated together. UN and UNICEF delegation attended the celebration.
