Message of Peace from War-Weary Children

Escaping from fights and wars in their countries, refugee children in Turkey commemorated the International Day of Peace with a very special event. Children planted trees for peace while making a wish to return to their homelands as soon as possible.

Children aging between 6 and 18 under psychological support and harmonization training at Sehit Serhat Onder Child Protection Center within the body of Turkish Red Crescent commemorated the International Day of Peace with a picturesque event.

War-weary children embraced soil and planting saplings that represent their hopes. Children gave saplings first life water and wrote their wishes on papers, which they then buried with capsules. Children wished that their hopes would become green with their saplings.
