The Symbol Children of Eastern Ghouta in Turkey

Baby Kareem (Kerim Muhammed), one of the symbolic names in the humanitarian tragedy taking place in the Eastern Ghouta region of Syria which is currently under blockade, as well as the sisters Ela and Nur, who shared posts on social media to show the world what they have been living through in Eastern Ghouta, were brought to Turkey through İdlib thanks to initiatives taken by the Red Crescent. President Dr. Kerem Kınık, who played an important role in the operation, brought the children together with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
With the mandatory evacuation of Eastern Ghouta, thousands of people were brought to İdlib. Among these thousands was baby Kareem, who had lost an eye during the attack in November 2017 as well as incurring serious fractures in his skull and who had become one of the symbolic names of the tragedy lived. Not just baby Kareem but also Ela (8) and Nur (10), sisters who had given voice to the pains and expectations of children from Eastern Ghouta, were brought to Turkey with the initiatives of the Red Crescent. Any and all needs of the children as well as their families shall be met by the Red Crescent and related authorities.

After talking with the children for a while, President Erdoğan reiterated to the world the message that civilians, particularly children, should not be targeted.
