Turkish Red Crescent Hosted Australia - Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Committee

Australia - Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Committee members, who came to Turkey for the 103th anniversary of The Battle of Çanakkale and attended to the Dawn Rite in the Anzac Bay visited Turkish Red Crescent Ankara Community Center in order to see the meticulous work over which Turkish Red Crescent shows on humanitarian aid.

A visit was made on behalf of Australia, which strives to reduce the damages of the humanitarian crisis in Syria, with € 213 million in aid.

Following the lunch with the member of the Turkish Red Crescent Inspection Committee Ahmet Hizanlıoğlu and Turkish Red Crescent staff, the Australian committee visited Turkish Red Crescent Ankara Community Center, one of the 15 centers providing social cohesion and vocational training to the Syrians and other asylum seekers in our country, teaching legal rights, and providing psychosocial support.

Turkish Red Crescent Deputy Director General Alper Küçük hosted the Committee members in Ankara Community Center. Red Cross Red Crescent Movement Cooperation Programme Coordinator Kamil Erdem Güler made a presentation about the humanitarian aid activities and Community Centers of the Turkish Red Crescent. Australia - Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Committee Chairman Chris Hayes, followed by the presentations made, praised the work that the Turkish Red Crescent has done: "humanitarian work carried out within the scope of the Turkish Red Crescent in Syria operation is really impressive, and also very important," he commented.
