Thanks to the Proxy-Animal Sacrifice Participants

This year, Turkish Red Crescent sacrificed animals and distributed the meat in a total of 42 countries in 62 regions including Balkans, Asia, Africa, Middle East and South America, on behalf of 154,854 proxy owners. 104,034 shares of Qurban meat, which were sacrificed abroad, were shared with more than 2,500,000 people in need. The meat of animals donated by 50.820 people for being sacrificed in Turkey, after being turned into canned food, will be distributed to the needy people throughout Turkey in the coming weeks.
Since 2007, Turkish Red Crescent has been organizing a Proxy-Animal Sacrifice campaign, and every year more citizens trust the organization in terms of donating. Being proud of such an organization, Turkish Red Crescent was sacrificed animals and distributed the meat in a wide geography from Balkans to Asia, from Africa to Middle East and South America. Turkish Red Crescent, which has made sacrifice in 42 countries abroad, has provided the sacrificed meat donated by Turkish people to more than 2,500,000 needy people.
As in the previous years, after being sacrificed and turned into canned food, the meat of animals donated by 50.820 people for those needy people in Turkey will be distributed to the needy people in Turkey through our branches and agencies. Cans that will be prepared as meat cubes and minced meat will be delivered to about 1,117,500 people in the following weeks.

Stating that citizens are become more kind to deliver Qurban meat to more people in need by sacrificing animals in more countries each year and that he has assigned the Turkish Red Crescent for this, Dr. Kerem Kınık, President of Turkish Red Crescent, said “All of the sacrificing and distribution processes were carried out by our expert staff.  We were taking care of the works. We witnessed the smiling faces of the needy to whom we delivered the Qurban meat on behalf of proxy owners. Some of these people had never experienced such a share. Their happiness motivated us again. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to those who donated.”
