A workshop on Enhancing Humanitarian Response and Resilience Through NGOs/CSOs in Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member Countries was held with the joint effort by Turkish Red Crescent, OIC, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), and Islamic Relief Worldwide.
Dr. Kınık stressed that Turkey, which is one of the OIC member countries, provided 30 thousand tons of humanitarian aid to Yemen and Sudan in 2017 and “International non-governmental organizations should act more actively together.  Humanitarian response should be made quickly. Turkey is among the most generous countries in the world. In 2017, we made an $8.1 billion aid” he added.
He also highlighted that Turkey is the most generous country in the world in terms of hosting refugees and continues his words by stating “Every minute, 20 refugees are added to the total number of refugees in the world.  This meeting is being held to make concrete decisions in terms of providing support to the people who have to be displaced. As the Red Crescent, we will always act in line with the objectives of this meeting.”
