Humanitarian Aid for Earthquake- and Tsunami-Hit Indonesia

Turkish Red Crescent launched a humanitarian aid operation for Indonesia, which was stricken by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake on September 28th and hit by tsunami afterwards, and has delivered disaster relief materials to the region from Turkey with two aircraft.
Besides the relief materials including 1,000 sleeping bags and 250 tents that were transported to the affected regions, foodstuff was supplied by the locals. First, foodstuff were distributed to about 1,000 people, and
tents delivered to the region were set up. Sleeping bags were also provided for the families who would stay in the rent. The Turkish Red Crescent has also started working to meet the long-term food and hygiene material needs of the victims, who were settled in the rents. At the end of the work, needs of other disaster victims, as well as 1,500 people settled in tents, will be met.
