“Common Solution To Effects Of Disaster Meeting” Held in Istanbul

The Disaster and Crisis Management Working Group Meeting organized annually by International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) was hosted by Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) between 4-6 December.

Managers responsible for disaster and international humanitarian operations of National Societies attended to the event held in Istanbul.

The role of the IFRC, the ICRC and National Societies in the implementation of these activities and capacity-building methods in disaster response activities; as well as evaluation of the International Humanitarian Relief Activities carried out by the representatives of the 21 National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) together with representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) were discussed throughout the event.

In the event, where Turkish Red Crescent Deputy Director General Alper Küçük also participated, presentations were made regarding the worldwide known and re-puted efforts and cash-based methods of the Turkish Red Crescent

Groups discussions were also carried out on the topics that would bring importance to future disaster management and coordination efforts such as “Strengthening Movement Coordination and Cooperation (SMCC)”, “Green Response” and “Efficiency, Impact and Localisation (EIL).
