ORIENTATION

The Society organizes a comprehensive orientation program to ensure that the new employees get a clear picture of the what their position will entail, to promote the feeling of involvement, to maximize satisfaction, and to facilitate their adaptation to their new environment.
One of the most important steps of the orientation process is the “Turkish Red Crescent Orientation Manual”. This binder also includes the letter titled “Welcome to the Turkish Red Crescent Society” which has in-depth explanations about the areas of service, values and strategic priorities of the Society.
A new employee is provided guidance on all areas where he/she may need support. The most important tool in this regard is the “Basic Orientation and Training Package” which includes a CD/DVD promotional information about the organizational structure and all areas of operation.

The Society supports its employees in their personal and professional development and in realizing their objectives, in order to reach institutional goals, facilitate the adaptation of employees to change, improvement and new technologies, and promote constant quality improvement. 

PERFORMANCE AND SALARY MANAGEMENT AT TURKISH RED CRESCENT SOCIETY

Performance Management System is structured in a cycle which integrates employee’s performance and institutional performance. The performance evaluation in the Society are held twice, in 6 month-periods in a given year (January-June: Intermediary Evaluation / July-December: Conclusive Evaluation).  
As a result of the performance evaluations, high performing employees are recognized, while lower performing employees are supported by professional and personal development training.
Turkish Red Crescent Society structures salary based on requirement of a given position. Position profiles have been completed following Job Analysis and Valuation activities, and the basic salaries for each position have been determined according to Functions, Risks and Qualifications. Also, each position was re-analyzed based on the responsibilities undertaken, and the area of operation and function was reflected as an addition to the base salary of the position.
The position salaries were fixed to the minimum wage coefficients and are updated on the percentage of minimum wage increases.
