Turkish Red Crescent, successfully celebrating the Eid al-Adha by the mandated qurban campaign for 12 years, facilitated 51 countries, including Turkey, to experience the plentitude of Sacrifice by sacrificing 181,540 shares of animals on behalf of millions. President of Turkish Red Crescent, Dr. Kerem Kınık said: “Our teams have completed the animal sacrifices. We express our gratitude to all of our benefactors for their trust in Turkish Red Crescent by substituting us as their mandates for this deed. Now, Turkey’s helping hand shall set the tables of 4.5 million people.”
Mandated Qurban campaign of Turkish Red Crescent with the slogan “Congratulations Turkey for Allowing Sacrifice Plentitude Live throughout the Year” is completed with the received 181,540 shares of sacrificial meat. Turkish Red Crescent teams also completed the sacrificial meat distribution activities abroad with the butchering operations done in Balkans, Asia, Africa, Middle East and South America alongside Turkey. Some of the sacrificial meat received by proxies from Turkey have been immediately delivered to public meal centers. A big portion is in the process of being canned.
Instant Information to Donors
Instant information regarding the butchered sacrifices were provided to donors. Also, the butchering process were recorded on video. This year, Turkish Red Crescent duly performed the responsibility that befell upon its shoulders to realize an important devotion, such as sacrifice as the rules of worship require, in order to deserve our people’s trust, as it does each and every year.
Turkey’s Merciful Hand Set the Table for 4.5 Million People
According to the calculations after the butchering by Turkish Red Crescent, approximately 1.5 million roasted meat cans will be produced out of the sacrifices. These cans will then be delivered to those in need within the year and also in the case of disasters, to the families of the disaster victims after the event.
Abroad, Turkish Red Crescent performed animal sacrifices through mandated qurban campaign in 50 countries across 4 continents. These sacrifices butchered in these countries were immediately delivered to those in need. The sacrifice meat was distributed to 2.5 million in its totality, and when Turkey is also taken into the calculations, in the completion of the campaign, the merciful hand of the benefactors will reach 4,5 million people. Turkish Red Crescent performed the sacrifices abroad under the supervision of Turkish Red Crescent authorities and observing the Islamic traditions and rules, under hygienic conditions in these countries abroad: Balkan Countries including Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Romania and Serbia; African countries including Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Chad, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Guinea, Southern Sudan, Cameroon, Kenya, Comoro Islands, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ruanda, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe; Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Georgia, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan and Russia/Tatarstan; Middle Eastern countries including Palestine (Jerusalem-Gaza), Iraq, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Yemen; and the Southern America countries including Surinam.

President Dr. Kerem Kınıt thanked for the trust in Turkish Red Crescent, saying: “I would like to express our gratitude on behalf of those in need to all of our benefactors who sacrificed by Red Crescent as their mandate. Let all our benefactors be sure that their sacrifices entrusted in us were butchered adhering to the Islamic traditions and their meats were distributed as our religion dictated. Turkish Red Crescent teams working at a geography where the sun does not set, from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Somali, from Mongolia to Surinam, from Bangladesh to Palestine duly performed their duty assigned with these consignments.”
Upper Management Supervised Butchering and Distribution in Situ
The sacrifices were performed meticulously at every stage under the observing eye of the Turkish Red Crescent’s upper management. In Bosnia-Herzegovina, President Dr. Kerem Kınık and Vice President İsmail Hakkı Turunç; in Tanzania, Vice President Dr. Naci Yorulmaz; in Ivory Coast, Secretary General Hüseyin Can; in Indonesia, Deputy Secretary General Murat Ellialtı; in Kosovo, board member Ercan Tan; in Northern Macedonia, board member Nejla Özsoy; in Kazakhstan, board member Ramazan Saygılı; in Sudan, board member Cengiz Koç; in Mauritania, board member Yasir Yılmaz; in Lebanon, President of the Supervisory Board İsmet Durmuş; in Albania, member of the Supervisory Board Sema Kopuz Yetiş; in Philippines, member of the Supervisory Board, Şükrü Can; in Serbia, President of Turkish Red Crescent Youth, Emre Koç; and in other countries, Branch Chairpersons and volunteers accompanied the butchering and distribution activities.
